Pekin Hospital to Present ?Love Your Heart?

As part of American Heart Month, an American Heart Association national campaign to raise awareness of heart disease, Pekin Hospital will offer a free presentation, ?Love Your Heart,? on Thursday, February 19 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Pekin Hospital. Mark Jackson, M.D., cardiologist with HeartCare Midwest, will present ?Steps to Defeating Heart Disease,? a discussion on recognizing the symptoms of heart attacks, reacting immediately, risk factors for heart disease, as well as prevention of heart attacks. Free blood pressures will be provided following Dr. Jackson?s presentation. A light dessert will also be served. This program is open to men and women. Through promoting heart disease awareness, Pekin Hospital hopes to improve heart health by providing community education on healthy eating, exercising, quitting smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, blood pressure and blood cholesterol, and controlling diabetes.
