Event Description:
One of the largest fireworks displays in the area is slated for this year’s July 4th celebration at Memorial Stadium. This will be the 60th year the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the fireworks event, which will be held Wednesday July 4th, with a rain date of July 5th. The program will feature unique ground pieces viewable only from inside the stadium, and more than 700 aerials. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. Before the fireworks begin, those in the stadium will enjoy local bands and other entertainment. The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at dusk (about 9:15p.m.).
