Join the YWCA Pekin's Coalition for Equality to explore the history of Latino presence in the USA through a three part discussion series which celebrates Latino Heritage month. The growing population of individuals who can trace their ancestry to a country in Latin America, the Caribbean or Spain has been recognized since 1968 when President Lyndon Johnson established Hispanic Heritage Week. In 1988 President Ronald Reagan expanded the celebration to a month. Presented by Dr. Aurea Toxqui, Bradley University Associate Professor of History.
