26% of children in the United States will witness or experience a traumatic event before they turn 4 years old. The Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) is starting the conversation on childhood trauma with an international conference. Light 2024: Shining a Light on Childhood Trauma is a two-day event filled with panels about best practices, preventative efforts, and strategies to reduce traumatic experiences in childhood and improve the lives of children and adults. CFPA wants to help build a safe and peaceful community and shining a light on the seriousness of child trauma continues that vision. Light 2024 is May 8 – May 9 at the Par-a-Dice Hotel in East Peoria, IL. More details to come. For more information about CFPA visit centerforpreventionofabuse.org.
